This is going to be a "website" if you will, where I will keep everyone updated on my ministry with Youth For Christ. Below is my first letter I am sending out. It tells a little bit about the ministry I am going to be involved in as well as what needs I have currently.
For those of you that do not know During the weekend of August 25 I will be entering the Geneva, Switzerland airport to work for an organization by the name of Youth for Christ. In this past semester of my life I have truly come to realize that God is faithful and ever so active and never the less He will continue to be that in my life.
Geneva is a large community that is 40% international. I will be working as an intern for 10 months getting the feel for the culture. I will be working alongside Joshua Case, the Executive Director for the Geneva office. Again those of you that know me know I love to organize and I love details. I will be able to help Josh with the operational capacity of the ministry within the organization. I will also experience the ministry first hand in the local schools through the YFC program called Altitude. Altitude is an innovative learning experience where my life story will connect with the stories of young people, whose stories all connect with God’s story. By investing 10 months of my life in Altitude, I will be exposed to a highly challenging environment where my personal development journey will be steep and my horizons expanded. I will be part of a team that is a "community in transit.” This will take up approximately ¾ of my time. With the remaining ¼ of my time I will connect with one of the local churches. There I will focus on the discipleship of young people in context of the local church.
I have a lot of work to do leading up to the end of August when I leave for Geneva. I am completely certain and confident God is active and that this is where God is placing me for this season of my life. I would like to ask each of you to prayerfully consider becoming a part of my ministry team. What does this mean!? I am in great need of both prayer support and financial support. I will be raising money for everything during my 10 months in Geneva and this is obviously a huge goal; considering I leave in more or less two months. I am in need of $2,000 a month which will cover my ministry expenses, insurance, salary, emergency funds and other monthly expenses. I also need $5,000 for my start up expenses which will include all of my training, airfare and other expenses. Here is what it will take:
10 people to give $100 monthly
15 people to give 50 monthly
30 people to give $25 monthly
This is a breakdown simply to help you better understand my financial needs. Any gift, prayerfully or financially, is greatly appreciated! Remember that all donations are tax-deductible.
If God had told me a year ago, let alone six months ago, that I would be a missionary overseas I would have never believed him. But I have seen His faithfulness, His guidance, and His good hand all over my life and I firmly trust in Him with this call for my life. I love seeing how He is orchestrating all of the desires I have for my life together for the next 10 months. I am passionate about the next stage in life that is set before me, I am passionate about impacting eternity through the here and the now. This is the experience of a lifetime and I cannot wait to share my experience with each of you. Thank you for your love and support! I have and will continue to be blessed by the each of you.
“Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations”
