More Answers for More Questions!

I love when you guys email me with questions! It helps me to depict life here! It also makes me appreciate the new things I come across daily! If any of you have more questions feel free to ask! Email me at ashleydmarble@gmail.com.

Questions:

1. Do you go to the youth center everyday?

The Youth Center is where we meet for our youth program on Friday nights. It is also where The offices for the church are. I do not go to the youth center every day. Mondays are my days off. Tuesdays I am at the YFC office all day, we have meetings and stuff. Then I stop by the youth center on my way home to meet with the youth pastor to go over the week. Wednesdays I am at the youth center, Thursdays I split my time between the YFC office and the youth center and the same with Fridays. Saturdays are usually a day activity.

2.What day is your day at the church?

I am at the church on Sundays. The church and youth center are in the same town, but a block away from one another. The town is called Nyon (but you pronouce it without the ending "n."

3. Do you go into the schools, or just spend time with the kids off the school grounds?

As of right now I really do not go into the schools. Anytime I have spent time with students it has been through church (some of those kids go to the international schools...but a lot go to the Swiss public schools) But the activity where we painted at the homeless shelter...that was time spent with students specifically from the international schools. I will fill in when I am needed for the Lunch Time Forums. That is when we as "Interyouth" go during their lunch periods and hold discussion groups. The purpose of Interyouth is to help form the whole of a person. Making them aware of themselves and others.

4.What time do you go to work?/5.What time do you get off work?

Tuesdays I get on the 8:18am train and get home usually on the 6:37pm train.(most people here work until 6ish because they don't eat dinner until 7 or so) The rest of the days I usually go to work an hour or so later and come home around the same time.

6. What is your Friday's night thing with the kids?

Our Friday night program is called "Corpus. It would be considered our "Wednesday Night" program. During the week is just a bad time to have youth because of the demands of school. We have about 20 students coming. The group is diverse as far as their spiritual foundation. It makes me excited!

7.Do they go to school Mon-Fri., like we do here?

They do go to school Monday -Friday, but what I can tell is that their days are much longer. When you get into high school here it is somewhat formatted like college in the states. You may have two periods off during the day. You can do what you want during that time. That is how it is in the Swiss school system...the international school system I don't think let's their kids off campus during the day. I am not for sure.
