Unity in Experience

Something I have enjoyed so much since being here is the unity I have found with friends traveling through the same life experiences as me! Two come to my mind!

One is my friend Emily Rose. She is serving in Lisbon, Portugal through the program "Journeymen". Her focus there is to Build relationships with University students, and share the love of Christ with them through a music platform. She is also learning Portuguese part time at the University of Lisbon. Emily and I lived on the same floor our freshman year at OBU. We never ran around with the same group of friends, but it has been a complete blast and blessing to reconnect with her while we are both serving as missionaries. It has been fun emailing with one another and share struggles, joys, new sights and ways the Lord is continually transforming us through a similar, but yet different experience!

My other friend is Michelle McBeath. Click on her name to see about her time away! We also became friends our freshman year of college and have been close ever sense. We lived together and worked together! It is a wonder we are still friends!!! She recently just started her journey with Adventures in Missions. She is traveling around the world for a year, to 11 different countries. In each place she will, with her team, help to meet the immediate needs of those they come into contact with. Through that she will share the love and joy of the Lord. It was really fun to email back and forth at the beginning of her process as I was fully emmersed in mine. She has been a great prayer support and encourager to me. She has been so thoughtful in her words to me that have guided me tons the last 4 months. I can't wait for the time when we are back together in the US and we can share the similarities and differences in our experiences.
