Prayer Requests

Updates:
***Praise: I have had a social life!!!! I have had several opportunities to spend time with people my age. I pray it continues!
***I have come out of the “reality setting in” mode. I am really happy to be here! I am enjoying my work and the people I am working with!
***Josh (YFC director) is still in the States doing recruiting. Please pray for 10 interns to sign up for the 2007-2008 year.
***Praise: I know many of you remarked about praying for my nose ring…for those of you that didn’t make fun of me…thank you for your prayers…after four months of infection it healed completely in two days! My stomach also is feeling better for the most part.



Requests:
***Trip to London. Safety in Travel. A good relationship to form between Laura and I. Praise for a refreshing vacation!!!
***I have my ups and downs with how I feel I am connecting with the students. Pray that I would be confident in my work and confident in Christ working in me.
***Pray that God would guide me in my future. I will have to decide here in a couple of months of what I want the next stage of my life to look like. Pray that I would be quiet to hear what God wants to take place.
***Pray for the salvation of the lost. There are many kids that come to our youth group that are not believers of Christ and his resurrection. They are having a hard time getting their head wrapped around the idea. Pray for their salvation. Pray for something to click.
***Pray for the Westlake Youth Program. Pray for Jesse as he leads the group. Pray that God would give him clear vision for our group. Pray that the kids would allow themselves to be engaged by the scripture we present to them.
***Pray for YFC Geneva. There are many different ministries that are alive and well. Pray for Interyouth, Link, Fabric, Altitude. Each one has a specific role with people in the community of Geneva…interns, au pairs, international students, youth groups…
***Pray for Jesse and Joy Larvick. Jesse is the youth pastor I am working with. Him and his wife Joy are having their second baby in November. Pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy! If any of you know about the life of a youth pastor it is STRESFULL an full of other people’s lives. So pray that I can be a support to the family however needed.
***I would like to speak French. Pray for somewhere or someone to tutor me for an inexpensive price!
***I am also looking for a lady to mentor me. Please pray that God would bring us together.

Specific Kids:
***Many of the kids come from families where one parent is a Christian and one is not. The other parent may be another religion, agnostic or an atheist. It gets very confusing for them.
The “religious culture” for these kids is so different from what most of you and I have grown up in. They really think things through before they decide to believe something. Many of them are deciding to switch from other religions to Christianity. Many are trying to decide if what they are hearing is true.
***For the kids that have decided to follow Christ. Pray that they would take opportunities to deepen their faith.

Please pray for the following kids:
***a boy in the youth: That things would make sense for him when it comes to Christianity. He is trying to decide if this life is worth following. He comes to every activity we have. He is such a fun kid.
***two young girls in the youth: That they would be interested in pursuing their faith. They both admit to choosing Christ, but they both actively choose not to live a life to honor God.
***a girl in the youth: She is a student leader. Pray for her as I can see how she loves to work inside of vocational ministry. She will be going to University next year…so a lot of decisions will have to be made.
