Random Thoughts/Happenings

Here are my random thoughts/happenings throughout my recent life:-)

1. I bought most of my ski stuff today. The skis, poles and boots. I guess that means I am going skiing for the FIRST TIME...in the ALPS. Shoot me now!!!! I have never skied, nor have I really ever had the desire to. Those of you that know me know that I have an obsession with the sun, oil, and a swimming pool- the last thing that sounds appealing is really cold weather, falling down, cold wind, wet clothes...umm...is there more? Ok, ok...I know it won't be that bad...everyone seems to love skiing. I will let you know how it goes. I am spending almost a full month up in the mountains (literally like 26 days all together) whether it be on snow camps with students or a staff retreat...o gosh!

2. Thanks to Natalie Espinosa (college roommate) my friends and I have coined the term sorry? AND NO...it is NOT a question. Can one of you girls explain to me how to explain that to people...ha! It has just become a part of my vocabulary...now I get weird looks and strange comments. Have any of you other girls experienced this same problem outside of "us?":-)

3. My parents get here in 5 days! I can't wait. I would have been miserable if I was here without them. Being alone this Christmas season has changed my view a little though. I have been studying the old testament lately. I will post more about it later...but the fact that Christ was coming was so crucial for the Israelites. And the funny thing is that I feel like I am waiting in expectation for Christmas day because "Jesus is born." But in reality that happened a long time ago! But it is cool to know that my spirit is anxious (in a good way) for my savior...if only it would be this December 25th that He came for the second time!

4. Community comes in the strangest and most unexpected places.

5. There is so much freedom in following Christ. With that comes joy!

6. Looking back I recieved a really great education! The university I attended really prepared me for the "world" if you will! I think through our 16 credits of western civ my world view was changed...preparing me for my vocation at this time! "OBU all hail they name...."

7. I hate the feeling right before getting a cold...it is awful!
